Ooh Mi Linda La Paz!
I will live the next months in my second hometown, the beautiful city of La Paz, Bolivia.
La Paz is the world’s highest administrative capital (the official capital is Sucre), located 3,650 m above sea level. To give you an example, La Paz is so high, that there really isn’t big fear of having great fires because there is not enough oxygen and it causes sometimes breathing difficulties for people who aren't used to the altitude! La Paz is so high that I feel I could almost reach the clouds.
We say La Paz is like a ”bowl”, because it is surrounded by the mountains of the Altiplano. The king mountain of the city is called Illimani, a snow-covered mountain, that can be seen in most of the tourist pictures of La Paz.
I really love this city because It feels like home. In my opinion, it is impossible to find a capital so unique as La Paz in South America. Of course, as Bolivia is the poorest country (economically) in South America, the city might not have all the modern things that big cities nowadays have. But it has it’s own things, which I will introduce in my blog, once my life here starts. :)
